In each course, you will see checkmarks to the right of each lesson. These indicate that a student has selected/opened the lesson.
The checkmarks do not mean that the student completed the lesson, just that it was opened. If there is just a checkbox in place of a check-mark, this means that the student can manually put a check in the box to show that the lesson was viewed.
